Tourism information on Siaton
Siaton is the southernmost municipality in the
province of Negros Oriental. It has 26 barangays, 14 of which are near the
coast. The Siaton shoreline stretches to 51 kilometers while the total
land area is 335.40 km2.
It is a 2nd class municipality in the third district of the province.
According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 64,258 people in
12,767 households.
The major tourist attraction of Siaton is Lake Balanan, a 15 km
hike from Siaton's national highway. It is ideal for camping, swimming and
outdoor recreations.
It also boasts of the Antulang Beach which has white pebble beaches, interesting
rock formations, clear waters and underwater scenery ideal for snorkeling.
There is also a good site for windsurfing, scuba diving, and sailing such
as the Tambobo Beach.
