Kabankalan City is a 2nd class
city in the
province of
Negros Occidental,
Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it
has a population of 149,769 people in 27,851 households. It is politically
subdivided into 32 barangay units.
Kabankalan occupies the central portion of the Southern Negros Island and its
geographically located at 10° east and 122° north. It is bounded on the north by
the Municipality of Himamaylan , on the northwest by Panay Gulf , on the
southwest by Municipality of Ilog and on the southeast by the Province of
Negros Oriental .
It is 90 kilometers away from Bacolod City and 100 kilometers from Dumaguete
City and the Southern most town of Hinoba-an.

Sunday of January of every year into a day of riotous revelry as dancers
painted in black soot stamp to the wild beating of drums.

pre-Sinulog presentation of Sinulog history, culture and development through songs,
dances and drama.

Charter Day Celebration (August
2) - a weeklong agro-industrial fair showcasing the indigenous
products of the farmers and cooperatives. Booth exhibits are also
displayed.
