Negros Island is the fourth largest island in the Philippines and its major city Bacolod is the fourth largest city
in the Philippines. Negros Island is located in the middle of the Philippine Islands in the Visayan Islands between two other
large Visayan islands Cebu and Panay, and Negros is just north of Mindanao Island. The island is divided into two provinces:
Occidental Negros and Oriental Negros (recently ranked by Islands Magazine as one of the top 20 islands in the world for foreigners to live on). The Philippines' largest cave---Odloman Cave---is located in Mabinay in the middle of Negros Island.

     Bacolod has first-rate, western-style, modern, clean [including restrooms and snack bar] movie theatres inside both Gaesano Mall and Robinson Mall , each of which has a number of theatres offering first-run American and Filipino movies. The new Gaesano Mall in Kabankalan will offer movies when the mall opens in mid-2006.
      Although there are no movie theatres in Mabinay, you can rent  [very low rental rates] VCDs at Fry Mini Mart, which has several thousand original [non-pirated] VCD movies available for your entertainment.  You will want to own either a low-cost VCD player [$50 to $75], or a DVD player than also plays VCDs. VCDs [because of their low manufacturing cost] are much more important in Asian nations than are expensive DVDs.
