The Philippines is the only Christian nation in Asia, with over 90% of its population being practicing Christians, primarily Catholic, but with all major Protestant denominations also having churches through out the entire Philippines. The southern half of the large southern island of Mindanao is primarily Muslim. The Philippine Constitution and Government strongly protect religious freedom and separation of church and state in the USA, in a way very similar to the USA. Examples of Philippines Protestant denomination churches that exist through out Negros Oriental are: Church of Christ [Iglesia ni Christo], Seventh Day Adventist, Congregational, Jehovah Witness, Later Day Saints [Mormons], Unitarian-Universalist, Baptist, Church of God, and many others. |
